SLCFA Organizational Meeting

SLCFA Kickoff Meeting: Exceptional Turnout

Kickoff Meeting

Over 50 Community members, state and local officials and family members attended the Kickoff Meeting of the St Louis County Family Association on December 1st. This was the first meeting open to the public since the organization’s inception in Oct 2022. The meeting was extremely well received.

Issues highlighted ranged from declining academic proficiency levels in our schools to the increase in politicization of education that sexualizes our youth at increasingly younger ages. Often these actions seem to undermine the very foundation of family and country. Presenters issued a call to action to those in attendance. Concerned parents, family and community members must engage with their elected officials, school administration and educators to return their attention to Academic Excellence and high-quality education. The ideology and social re-engineering push is threatening the fundamentals children need to thrive. Schools are riding on the success of those who have gone before them, and the dam is beginning to crack due to lack of attention given to core academics. These include Math, Science, English/Language/Arts and Social Studies. Visit the website at stl-family.org and check out the academic grade-level proficiency levels by topic and by school district. The data clearly shows that student’s academic performance is in decline.

“Our children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation. They will be the leaders of our country, the creators of our national wealth, who care for and protect our people.”

Nelson Mandela

The education gap was also highlighted as a very concerning topic. Although communities have shared their concern over this for years, our most disadvantaged students have also experienced declines in proficiency levels. Parents are concerned.

A callout was made for individuals wanting to be more involved in their school districts. One of the SLCFA Organizations’ goals is to create information and materiel templates that can be duplicated in other districts. Together Everyone Achieves More.

Expect to see additional meetings held in public forums as SLCFA gains additional momentum—contributing to positive changes in our school districts.

Thank You for Standing in the Gap for Children!
